CPA Allen Alternative. Books, payroll, and the return.
We answer an owner in Allen by shutting the month, by leaving payday on a login you already hold, and by writing the return after that month will stand. The name printed beside Tax CFO and beside the Entrepreneur's CFO is Steven Palmieri.
- Closed books every month.
- Payroll set up on your provider.
- A return that matches those books.

Books, payday, and the return
.Write the job that should come before the other two, whether the ledger, payday, or the return.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
The year stays open until we decide.
The Tax CFO decides the year while it is still open, so a hotel return or a 4A filing never waits until April to become a surprise.

A Saturday receipt
Watters Creek on a Saturday is a walk we would take too, and the receipt still has to be unblended before the month can close.

A night at the rink
The Allen Americans have four league titles, and we enjoy a night there as much as you do. Ticket sales still need a name on the tax line before that month can close.

The city line
The Edge at Allen Station Park is free, and we like that as much as you do. We keep the city line named when we close the month.
Click to see that split ›Tap to see that split ›.
A sandwich line
Locals line up at Elke's Market Cafe for a sandwich, and we would get in that line too. The receipt from that line still has to say which tax is the city's before we call the month closed.

A quiet hotel month
An empty week of rooms can feel like a month off. Hotel occupancy tax still wants its return when the 20th arrives.
Click to see that month ›Tap to see that month ›.
The school line
Allen ISD sets the calendar the city's families follow, and the school line is the heavy one on a home bill. We pull that line out so a protest and the monthly close are not the same pile.

Six dates an owner in Allen already circles
Open a month. It shows what usually comes due for an owner in Allen, and who watches that date.
1January
Vendor forms and the last estimate of the prior year both land in January, and sales tax for a shop in Allen is still due on the 20th.
We build the vendor list from months that already tie to the bank. You confirm who was paid. Sales tax for a shop in Allen stays written on that calendar too.
2March
A return starts to look like a year only after the winter months are closed, including the local names on each sales tax filing.
We will not draft the return on an open February. You see the open items before anyone talks about filing.
3April
15 April is the business personal property rendition at the Collin Central Appraisal District, and the same stretch holds many company returns plus the first estimate of the new year.
We prepare the rendition from the asset list you keep. You sign what is yours. The estimate uses the year already being closed.
4May
15 May carries the franchise report, the usual protest day for a real property value, and the extended rendition if you asked in writing to move it off 15 April.
We keep those three dates in separate notes so a protest is never treated as the franchise report.
5July
A midyear estimate often shows up in July, and the 20th still belongs to sales tax whatever the estimate says about profit.
We set the estimate beside cash. You decide what can leave the bank. The sales tax filing keeps its own date.
6October
A bonus, a piece of equipment, or a retirement contribution can still change the year if you decide while the year is open. Allen's sales tax filing keeps its own date while you decide.
We name the choice while it can still be made. The 20th is paid from the return that already carries the three local names.
The practice on the other end of the call.
The practice is in Dallas. Steven Palmieri is the Tax CFO on the close, and the close keeps one day every month.
What the receipt is hiding
.Three names inside one rate
People say the rate in Allen is 8.25 percent, and the receipt agrees with them. Under that single figure the state keeps 6.25 percent and the city keeps 2 percent. No Collin County sales tax sits on top of that receipt. The city is outside a transit authority, so the local 2 percent is not shared with a transit system. Inside the city's own 2 percent there are three names. A half percent supports the 4A economic development corporation. A half percent supports the 4B community development corporation. One percent supports the city general fund. The Comptroller lists the city under local code 2043072.
We close a month only after those names are on the sales tax papers, not smeared into one blob called local tax. A shop at Watters Creek and a contractor who pulls materials for a job in Allen can both wear that same combined rate. The books still have to say which piece is which, because the return on the 20th asks for the local portion in the city's own categories. A month that looks finished and cannot answer that question is not finished.
How a month earns the word closed
.The close has a day
A closed month is a boring achievement, which is the point. The bank, the cards, and the loan balances agree with the ledger. Undeposited sales are either in the bank or listed as still sitting there. Sales tax collected is a liability, not income, and the liability matches what the 20th will ask for. If a number does not tie, we say so on that month. We do not paint over it and hope the return will be kind.
Owners in Allen tell us the same worry in different words. The drawer was busy, the weekend was good, and nobody is sure the deposit matches the tickets. We like a good weekend too. Locals line up at Elke's Market Cafe for a sandwich, and we would get in that line on the same kind of Saturday. The relief we are after is the Monday when the deposit, the tickets, and the tax liability all name the same dollars. That is the close. It has a day we pick with you, and the next month does not start by reopening it.
Payroll, set up and then handed back
.Setup, then your login
Payday on this practice means the registrations, the provider you already chose, and a login that ends in your hands. We will help you get the federal and state pieces in place, map the pay items, and see that a first test run makes sense. The run itself stays on that provider. We do not keep the only key, and we do not become the payroll department that owners cannot see into.
A crew that works jobs in Allen and lives somewhere else in the region still gets paid through your provider, in your name. What we will not do is treat payroll as a side pot that never hits the books. Wages, the taxes withheld, and the employer share have to land in the same month the work happened. Otherwise the return later invents a profit the bank never felt.
The return waits for the names
.What has to be true first
We prepare the return after the months are closed and the local pieces have names. Estimates during the year are how April stops arriving as a surprise. If profit is running hot and there is no retirement plan, that is a conversation about a lever, held while the year is still open. An S corporation election is the same kind of talk. It is a threshold, with a date, not a slogan we paste on a home page and hope it fits you.
A late filing can ask for penalty relief only after a real return exists. We will say that plainly if you are behind. We will also say when the open months have to be rebuilt before any of that is honest. The statements we hand you stand on the closed months. They do not wear a cover this practice is not allowed to sign. That fence is written out on the disclosures page, and we repeat the limit on the first call.
Working papers and a month that ties
.The paper under the number
Behind the close sits a set of working papers. Each one points at a statement line and at the bank, the card, the loan, or the filing that supports it. A reviewer on our side can pick up the month without calling you to ask where the number came from. You can pick it up a year later and see the same path. That is the standard we mean by a month that ties.
Reconciliation is the part owners feel in their shoulders. When the bank balance on the screen matches the bank's own number, the argument about whether the books are real gets quieter. We do that match every month we are engaged, including the months when the match fails and the failure is the news. A report that hides the break is worse than a late close. We would rather show you the break on a Tuesday than discover it inside a return.
What the first call is for
.Bring the unnamed piece
On that first conversation we look at which months actually tie, who runs payday, and whether filings have kept three local names or one blended line. Sometimes the honest answer is that another kind of help fits better. Talking for 30 minutes hires nobody. A signed scope letter is the start of paid work. The phone in the footer and the calendar both land with this same practice.
Bring the thing that has been nagging you. A receipt you cannot unblend. A hotel month you thought was too quiet to file. A property bill that feels like one number. A franchise report and a protest that share 15 May and are not the same task. We would rather start from the piece that is unnamed than from a speech about services.
Start with the books
.One sentence is enough. Someone here answers the note, and only then does a call go out.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
