CPA Allen Alternative. No counter in this county.
Collin County has no Comptroller walk in office. The books still have to be ready when the notice arrives.
Ask about the notice.
Where people picture a counter
When a notice feels serious, owners want a counter and a person behind it. For Comptroller business, Allen does not have that counter, and neither does the rest of Collin County. The Comptroller points people to the office on the northwest side of Dallas, the office on the southwest side of Dallas, or the virtual field office. We do not describe that as a flaw in the city. We describe it so you do not lose a morning driving toward a window that is not there. We work the notice from the filings and the bank that are already on the screen.
A drive is not a filing. We have heard of a careful owner who spent the day going toward Dallas and still had an unreconciled sales tax account at the end of it. The notice wanted numbers. The numbers live in the closed months, or they do not exist yet. If they do not exist yet, the first work is the months, not the mileage.
What the virtual path still needs
A video office can accept a filing and a conversation. It cannot invent the three local names if your ledger never stored them. State 6.25 percent, city 2 percent, and inside the city piece the half percent 4A, the half percent 4B, and the 1 percent general fund, local code 2043072. Those are the facts a sales tax question eventually asks. Hotel tax questions ask for the city 7 percent and the state 6 percent and for the 20th you did or did not file. Franchise questions ask for the revenue the books support. Bring those, and a remote conversation is enough. Bring a mood, and the video ends where it started.
We set the call up the same way we set the close up. You see the screen. You keep the logins. We do not need to hold the only key to your Comptroller account or your payroll provider. If a power of attorney is the right tool for a notice, we will say so and we will put it in the engagement, not assume it from a friendly first call.
Neighbors, not a storefront
We talk about Friday nights and about a walk at Watters Creek the way neighbors do. Hear the warmth, and then hear the weekday. Friday night in Allen does not move the day we already picked for the close. The 20th still gets a return with the local pieces named. The standard stays on that weekday, and a friendly talk about the town does not move it.
If what you wanted was someone to sit in your shop every afternoon, say so and we will tell you we are the wrong practice. If what you wanted was a month, a payroll setup on your provider, statements, and a return, the missing counter is not a problem. Booking starts from the calendar on this door.
Bring the notice if you have one, and bring the last month you trust. We can usually tell on the call whether the notice is about sales tax, franchise tax, or a payroll deposit that never matched the books. Each of those has a different next step, and none of the next steps is a drive around Collin County looking for a window. The virtual field office is a real option the Comptroller names. We use the books either way.
Owners near the edge of Allen sometimes pay a school rate that is not Allen ISD, because a thin share of the blocks sits in Plano ISD or Lovejoy ISD. That surprise belongs to the property bill, not to the Comptroller call. We will say so if you have brought the wrong notice to the wrong conversation. Sorting the notice is part of the help.
Where you hoped to drive
.Tell us about the notice, if there is one, and whether the months under it are closed.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
